Ignace prend la route de Pointe-à-Pitre il mourra dans les combats. Delgrès se rend au Matouba à Saint-Claude. Degrès et ses compagnons se feront sauter au cri de "Vivre libre ou mourir!". La mulâtresse Solitude, enceinte, symbole de la résistance des femmes, sera pendue en novembre 1802 juste après l'accouchement.
