1550-53 yılları arasında Kaptan-ı Derya Sinan Paşa tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Sinan Paşa Üsküdar'daki Mihrimah Sultan Camisi'ne gömüldü. Cami ise 1555 yılında tamamlandı.
